Job Posting--Finance Director, UK Listed Company

Reporting to: Senior Finance Director China

Reporting directly to the China Senior Finance Director and dotted line to Senior Director Finance Business Partner APAC, participate in developing and executing the Company overall strategic plan and associated imperatives to drive its growth and success with direct responsibility for the China P&L financials. In addition to being the finance business partner for the Company Senior Management team, also drives the people plan and excellence in the Finance function across China and contribute to that for the group.

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Company Senior Management team providing support to establish the business strategy and translating it into the annual operating plan. Ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis to inform decision making, ultimately leading to attainment of financial targets.
• Accountable for operational decisions affecting business activities. Provide financial leadership and decision support in the relevant key areas of commercial management / contracts, sales and marketing, operations, pricing, product development, product/program lifecycle, market analysis, and all business issues related to the organization’s activities especially partnerships and acquisitions
• Review and approve recommendations for financial planning, reporting, and control including policies and procedures, systems, etc. Ensures that the business has an effective and efficient risk management system and control environment.
• Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the region, including: organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets.
• Lead the Finance function for Medical China. Drive talent management within the regional finance teams and ensure a pipeline of talent for future leadership roles.
• Align financial policies and procedures with company objectives.
• Manage the activities of the accounting and financial analysis staff.
• Monitor regional adherence to agreed financial targets.
• Balance financial perspective with other business function perspectives.
• Participate in periodic management reviews of the quality system to ensure overall compliance as well as appropriate resources are available to effectively maintain the business’ quality system (people, facilities, tools, and training).
• Foster collaboration across the business and the group-wide Finance function as part of the Global Finance Leadership team.
• Represent China at business reviews/Exco as required.

Essential:
• Significant experience of working in multiple finance roles
• 5+ years of Senior level leadership experience
• Ability to travel internationally and interact successfully with diverse cultures
• Familiar with job related government regulation and policy.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead and execute.
• Ability to work effectively and independently while managing deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Fluent in English language, spoken as well as written.
• Good computer skill (Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office).

Preferred:
• University degree
• MBA, CPA, CA and/or CIMA
• Familiarity with tax and treasury planning and operations
• Experience leading a global organization, preferably while working in different countries
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and regulations and financial analysis techniques
• Experience consolidating financial results in a complex, matrixed multi-currency environment
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of company policies and procedures
• Extensive experience interacting with senior business leaders
